That’s a wrap – Planning Your Future Information Day
12 December 2018
The Planning Your Future open day was a great event filled with in-depth presentations from Goodwin, KJB Law and Dixon Advisory, a range of information stalls and more, all in the one location.
The free event provided people with an opportunity to hear from the experts, gain useful and in-depth information, and an opportunity to ask questions to the right people.
The three information sessions were well attended, with speakers sharing their expertise with all of the attendees.
Erik Boddeus, Executive Manager of Retirement Living and Chair of the ACT Retirement Living Committee of the Property Council of Australia presented on retirement villages, fees, services, and amenities. This presentation was followed by Jamie Fillingham, Executive Manage Community Care who presented on home care services, how to access the services and what home care can do for you.
Raina Sinha, Solicitor and Kerstin Glomb, Senior Solicitor at KJB Law discussed estate planning, retirement village contracts and the importance on an estate plan.
The afternoon focus was wealth management for retirees, with Dixon Advisory taking the stage. Madison Kennedy and Ishara Rupasinghe, Director’s Family Wealth Management, explained the new downsizing scheme, superannuation and succession planning.
The open day was a wonderful opportunity for guest to explore The Central, chat with current residents, and view the display suites.
The open day featured fantastic information stalls from:
- Heart Foundation
- Carers ACT
- COTA ACT
- Dementia Australia
- Total Mobility
- Country Women’s Association
Plus, the Veterans Support Centre food van served delicious food all day.
